Dramatically improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and scars with SkinPen
What is SkinPen?
SkinPen is the latest advancement in microneedling. Its pen-shaped needles are customised to treat each patient’s unique skin needs.
What makes SkinPen microneedling different?
Unlike traditional microneedling, SkinPen does not promote bleeding. Instead, skin may appear red and flushed for approximately 24-48 hours after treatment. Skin may also feel as though it has been mildly sunburned.
What are the benefits of SkinPen?
SkinPen microneedling surpasses traditional microneedling by using precision targeting of common skin complaints:
Wrinkles
Fine lines
Acne scarring
Sun damage
Clogged and/or enlarged pores
Deflated skin
Hyperpigmentation
Uneven texture
Who is a good candidate for skin rejuvenation with SkinPen?
Most people are. With no active ingredients or laser/light components, SkinPen is appropriate for everyone, including those with sensitive, dark-toned, and acne-scarred skin.
Who should not have a SkinPen treatment?
Medical microneedling is not recommended for people who:
- Are experiencing an acne flare-up
- Suffer from herpes, warts, or eczema (moderate to severe)
- Have a medical condition/disease that tends to cause scarring
- Have had chemo/radiation therapy (not limited to cancer patients)
How many SkinPen sessions do I need and how long do results last?
A series of 3 treatments, once every 4 weeks, provides most people with the anti-ageing benefits they desire. Patients with advanced photo-ageing or deep wrinkles or acne scarring may require between 6 and 9 sessions, spaced every 4 to 6 weeks.
Results may last as long as 6 months. Many patients establish a maintenance program to ensure skin stays smooth, toned, and radiant.
What happens during a SkinPen treatment?
Skin Exam
Pre-Treatment Topical
SkinPen Treatment
The SkinPen device is moved over the treatment area to create tiny, sterilised wounds in the skin. These stimulate cell production, collagen production, and natural skin repair.
Photonlight Therapy
Following the SkinPen treatment, a photonlight is applied to the area for 20 minutes to encourage collagen production and to calm and soothe the skin.
How long does a treatment take?
Treatment sessions take 60 minutes on average. The size of the area to be treated, the number of areas to be treated, and the severity of damage to the skin may impact treatment time.
Is there any downtime?
SkinPen treatments are non-surgical and minimally invasive. Patients may resume all their normal activities but are advised to avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol consumption for 48 hours. This gives the wounded skin time to heal.
How quickly will I see results?
Redness, swelling, and skin flaking generally resolve within 48 hours, leaving your skin noticeably toned and more radiant.
